Avengers Infinity War – Aw snap !

“You should’ve gone for the head” *Snap* .
That moment will remain in the mind of millions
for years to come. The mad titan won, our heroes lost.
How could this happen? Where did it all go wrong? We
are just left there to sit in silence as our heroes
vanish one by one. Thanos leaves with a burned up gauntlet
and a smile on his face and what remains of the Avengers
are left to sit on the ground and try to figure out what just happened.
If you’re anything like me you’ve spent the days leading up to this
movie watching prediction theories, a lot of them at that. I could
honestly say I didn’t expect the mad titan to get more than 4 stones
at the most, but boy was I wrong. The entirety of the movie felt like
a roller-coaster ride. Will they or wont they stop him. They find him
in Knowhere and seemingly prevail only for him to reveal he has a third
stone and it was all for nothing. His underlings are kept at bay, giving
us hope all while he is getting another stone. He comes to Titan with 4
infinity stones and lands right into an ambush, the gauntlet almost comes
off only to have Quill start bashing him and throw the fight. This ends
with him getting the time stone. Now at this point in the theater I was
starting to get nervous. The battle of Wakanda raging, out antagonist
having 5 stones, not looking so bright for our heroes, the only beacon
of hope being Thor with his newly forged Thanos killing weapon. The wind
blows slightly, Cap calls everyone to his position, a slow motion fight
begins. The entire scene feels like you’re watching something horrific
happen and can’t do anything about it, no one can. The moment Wanda
decides to sacrifice Vision, everything seems so depressing and sad.
She succeeds and there is a glimmer of hope that lasts a whole 5 seconds
before he reverses time and takes the last infinity stone from Visions
head and throwing his lifeless corps to the side. He has collected them
all, it is done. In the very last second Thor comes to the rescue and
hurls Stormbringer towards the mad titan nailing him directly in the chest.
Thank the heavens it’s over, the good guys won and we have a happy ending.
Then, the above mentioned scene happens. Thor really should’ve gone for the
head. I’ve left the theater shocked and sad, but mostly shocked. Never
thought they had the stones (eh? eh? :D ) to pull something like this off.
So many characters dead, vanished before our eyes. How do we recover from
this, what’s next? How do we proceed? The final nail in the coffin was the
“Thanos will return” proving this was his movie. He was the hero all along,
it was never about stopping him, it was about him wining. Not sure how to
feel about that. The movie itself is amazing, the comedy feels on point
and never forced. They’re jumping from funny to realistic back to funny and
around to sad with such ease. There is never a dull moment and you’re
always on the edge of your seat. With so much going on it can be a bit
difficult to follow all the story lines and characters which isn’t that
unexpected considering how many different characters there are in this
movie. Does it stand on its own? I would say not. You could watch it without
seeing any of the previous movies but you wouldn’t really have an
understanding and appreciation for some of the character interactions.
This movie is the culmination of 19 movies that came before and should
be seen after them. All in all, a really fun experience and a must see
for all MCU and comic book fans.
So, to summarize, this is a story about a man (or rather a titan)
on his missions to ensure the universe doesn’t destroy itself with
overpopulation. An epic tale about a noble quest that requires our
hero to sacrifice everything in order to achieve his goal for no one
else will undergo this grueling task. On his way, a bunch of
ne’er-do-wells attempt to stop him but luckily he overcomes their
efforts and comes out on top. It is always inspiring to see a story
like this and really gives me hope that I too can achieve my goals
and dreams…
