Realm Royale-Newbie’s guide to magic, mounts and guns

online games, realm royale, battle royale

So, you’ve just completed the tutorial, played a couple of games, got utterly destroyed and are thinking to yourself, what the hell is this? Well, fear not my fellow newbie’s. I’ve made it my personal mission to help you get your game on and be one of those doing the destroying.

Warrior

Close-mid range character. Has a bonus with axes, swords and hammers. Leap and charge deal damage, shots and shouts have lower cooldown. Has increased max hp and receives more healing. The warrior kit is mainly focused on fighting in tight corners such as Northport or Trinity hills. Your ideal kit would probably feature a slug rifle for long range poking and an axe for the up close and personal fights. The legendary axe can end anyone with 2-3 hits depending on their armor. As for the movement ability you want the leap. Never charge. I’d honestly take a grey leap over a legendary charge any day. It covers little ground in terms of movement, whereas the leap covers a great deal. The damages is the same but charge is harder to land and once landed it repels the enemy away from you, which isn’t really what you want if when you’re a close range brawler. The ability you want to go for is either healing or shielding shout. Net shot only if it’s legendary or if you’re playing with a sword. Get a healing increase rune and you’re good to go. All in all, with a warrior you want to get in close and destroy anyone with a few hits.

Hunter

As of writing this guide, my favorite class. The hunter can fight efficiently at any range. She has bonuses for longbows and crossbows (both heavy and ordinary). Traps, flares and arrows along with dodge roll and withdraw all have reduced cooldown. Has increased movement speed and 20% life-steal. The best kit here would be a longbow for long ranged fights. The longbow deals a lot of damage and it doesn’t fall off with distance, great projectile speed and no reloading, what more could you want? For the close up fights the ordinary crossbow is amazing. The damage of each individual shot isn’t impressive, but it has a high fire rate. The legendary variant has additional fire damage allowing you to make quick work of anyone who gets too close. As for movement, I always go for withdraw because of the stealth. Dodge roll compensates for this be having a ridiculously low cooldown. With a movement ability rune, the legendary Dodge Roll has 0.5 seconds of cooldown. With this combination you literally won’t need a mount for the rest of the game. The abilities are all great, I prefer blast arrow over others because you can, with a bit of skill send the enemy flying right where you want them. For runes, movement speed + life-steal are amazing. Not only will you run really fast, but you will have 50% life-steal. 50 ! Each shot longbow shot that deals over 1000 damage to the enemy heals you for 500. I’ve had a lot of situations where the life-steal rune literally saved me and won me a match. So, stay in the back, poke your enemies down, crossbow them if they up close and it’s a gg.

Assassin

The character with the most annoying voice lines by far. Bonus for using snipers, venom pistols and heirloom rifles. Lower cooldown for grenades, drones, blink and hidden. Gets 300hp back when he chicken’s an enemy and his headshots deal more damage. The assassin is very simple. Get a sniper for pokes and a venom for close ups. Get a sensory drone just to see when the enemy pops his head so you can shoot it. Similar to the warrior, you really don’t want his second movement ability. Stick with blink. Hidden is utterly useless, all it does is turn you invisible without moving one bit. If you want invisibility you can always go for Withdraw. Get a rune for increased headshot damage and your sniper shots to the head will be quite deadly. Currently, the assassins’ venom pistol when legendary is the strongest weapon in the game. It deals base damage + the poison + the fire. If you can get it, take it.

Mage

Now we’ve come to the, for the moment, riskiest class. Forging with a mage is like Russian roulette. She has a bonus for using staves. Her movement abilities last longer. She has reduced cooldown with all abilities. Totems, blocks and walls have additional cooldown reductions. Her maximum potion count is increase by 5. What you want here is a stone staff. It works great for both long and close range fights. For the second weapon you should go for a bolt staff. Movement depends on your play-style. I prefer soar seeing as how it lets you get the high ground. As for abilities, totem is the only useful one as it can heal both you and your team. Ice block is good only if legendary. Wall is useless. The reason why the mage is the riskiest class is her forging. She is the only class that has a useless weapon and two useless skills. She can be deadly with good RNG, but without it she is very weak compared to others.
With that, we’ve covered all of the classes. General rules of thumb, always go for higher rarities, stick with your class gear and don’t miss shots. With time you will develop your own style and tricks. I will do my best to keep this guide up to date since the game updates every month or two. Good luck, have fun and see you out there.
